Recently, quite a few of our St. Daniel parishioners bought a MI K of C Raffle Ticket from Rob Stawarz or another Knight (about 870 were sold!) . Rob attended the raffle drawing conducted at St. John Neumann Parish on Thursday, April 10. Unfortunately, no one from St. Daniel won any of the 40 prizes. Across the state, there were over 66,000 tickets sold, generating over $330,000 is cash for charitable works the K of C supports across Michigan. The final numbers and details on the 40 winners will be posted on the MI K of C website(https://mikofc.org/news/2025-state-raffle-update) in June or July. The current info on the website is not up to date. Thank you to all who supported this worthy endeavor by purchasing tickets!
By now, you have heard that the Camerlengo of our Holy Roman Catholic Church, His Eminence, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, announced the passing of our Holy Father Pope Francis. This evening, Cardinal Farrell will preside over the rite of ascertainment of death of Pope Francis. Cardinal Farrell said, "With deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 am this morning [Vatican time], the Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love..."
Let us pray for the church and for the College of Cardinals who will gather in Rome in the days to come to first bury Pope Francis and then to elect the successor of St. Peter; may God grant them safe travels, wisdom, and charity as they will enter the Conclave of 2025.
Throughout our nation, our churches mourn the death of our Holy Father Pope Francis. We now enter into a time of mourning. We pray, eternal rest grant unto Our Holy Father Pope Francis O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

While groups like Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul are part of St. Daniel Parish, they are actually separate entities with their own bank accounts. As such, donation checks should be made payable directly to the specific group, NOT St. Daniel Parish. If you ever have a question about how to make your check payable, reach out the Parish Office at 248-625-4580!
