View temporary, post-quarantine guidelines for attending public Mass
Not able to join us physically for Mass? Watch it livestreamed at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday!!!
In accordance with the guidelines promulgated by the Archdiocese of Detroit, and approved by Archbishop Vigneron, everyone who attends Mass, liturgies, activities, etc., in church is required to wear a mask for the full duration of their presence inside the church, and a physical distance of at least 6 feet must be maintained between individuals.
I know that this practice has become cumbersome, uncomfortable, and frustrating for many of us, but this is part of the everyday Christian life! It's not about you or me -- it's about those who are concerned about their health during this pandemic. It doesn't matter what I think, or what you think, personally; it has to do with obeying the Archbishop, and putting the concerns and welfare of others before ourselves, as we are called to do as true Christians.
There has been an increasing number of participants at Mass who are not wearing masks, and I have received an increasing number of complaints about it. If you do not want to wear a mask at St. Daniel Catholic Church, then I respectfully ask you to participate in Mass at a nearby church whose practice is more in line with your thoughts, beliefs, and practices. Suffering for others is part of imitating Christ!
I remind you that as Christians, we are called to others before ourselves. This pandemic, with all of its church and state restrictions, provides us a wonderful challenge to practice what we preach and, hopefully, demonstrate what we truly believe.
Currently, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are only gathering together for Mass.
As restrictions are loosened/lifted, we will be updating our website accordingly.
