This year’s Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) theme is "Fuel the Mission." The Catholic Services Appeal is an opportunity to celebrate the ways our Church in Detroit responds to the material and spiritual needs of individuals and families. One parish alone could not meet these many needs. It is through the sharing of our gifts and our service that we, together, can be the Church Christ wants us to be. Your generosity makes it possible for more than 170 ministries, services, and programs to love intensely and to bring the indescribable joy found in Christ to our communities. Click for more info!
Don't miss out ... register your kiddos NOW for Vacation Bible School! This year, kids ages 3-12 are invited to become a Super Follower of Jesus, our ultimate super hero. Students in grades 7+ are needed to help decorate and help adult leaders. Click for complete info, and to register and pay online!
Spending some quiet time in prayer with our Lord, Jesus Christ, is a beautiful way to come to know Him more intimately, to love Him more deeply, and follow Him more closely. Join us on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. to be one with our Lord for one hour.
Late this afternoon, we received notice from the Archdiocese of Detroit about something we all need to be aware of this weekend and beyond. Per AOD: "Following this week's news about the U.S. Supreme Court's ongoing deliberations in the Dobbs vs. Jackson case, national media outlets have reported on some concerning reactions that have appeared to target religious institutions, worship sites, and/or religious services nationwide." Apparently, these reactions have included protestors and/or demonstrators. While we hope not to have to do so, we will deal with any protestors or demonstrators on our parish property swiftly and directly. They will be asked to leave; if they refuse, we will be forced to involve the police. We are all being asked to be extra observant before, during, and after Masses for anything out of the ordinary. If you see something, say something -- notify Father or a staff person immediately. Please pray for all those impacted by the upcoming SCOTUS decision and any other related developments.
As we encounter Christ in our lives, grow in our faith and witness the Holy Spirit working in our lives day to day, Spiritual Journaling can be a way of praying, listening and responding. If you want to practice this journaling experience, or share your journey with others, we have a time for small group sharing each month. We meet the first Friday of each month (September-May) in the Cushing Center, 9:30-11:30 a.m. In sharing the journey, we find new growth, new friends and amazing graces as we notice the Holy Spirit in amazing, unexpected ways.
Now that spring seems to have sprung, it’s time to start thinking about golf! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Fountains for our next annual Men of St. Daniel golf outing to benefit youth activities at our parish! We are now collecting registrations for teams of 4 to play, and also looking for sponsors to support the outing. Please start talking to your friends and family to begin forming teams so that we can have a record turnout in 2022! If you have any questions, contact Mike Peterson at mlpetersonplus3@gmail.com.
All are welcome to join us for prayer on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the church. After praying the Evening Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours, we pray together for special intentions submitted to us from parishioners and shared from those who attend. This is the work of the Holy Spirit, a work of faith, hope and love, and a Spiritual Work of Mercy. This ministry of intercessory prayer has really changed lives, especially ours! With grateful hearts, Allan and Christine Moore and Sue Thompson

While groups like Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, and Men of St. Daniel are part of St. Daniel Parish, they are actually separate entities with their own bank accounts. As such, donation checks should be made payable directly to the specific group, NOT St. Daniel Parish. If you ever have a question about how to make your check payable, reach out the Parish Office at 248-625-4580!
